Mudasir Ahanger

Respected sir,
We the students of B.Ed regular batch 2018 pursuing this course from last two years. We had got admitted to B.Edin the year 2018. Due to incessant lockdowns and Hartals in Kashmir since last year when there was an abrogation of Article-370. This year COVID-19 has also kept our academic institutions at bay. These allunfaltering problems still linger to have made us hamstring. It is unfortunate, that we have not given any semesteryet. We are witnessed that our senior Batch of 2017 is pursuing the same course from the last four years. They have given only two semesters as of now. These constant hurdles badly hampered us in the midst of COVID-19 for completing our B.Ed courses in due time.It is impossible to say that how many years more itwill take when our B.Ed course gets completed. Lately, B.Ed examination forms have been issued for regular batch 2018 for the first two combined semesters. It is a wonderful step and we welcome all of you for the decision taken bythe Directorate of Distance Education underyour worthy supervision for the submission of online examination forms till 24th August. Sir, we demand for online exam rather than offline in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. We don’t want to put our lives at stake as many students have to come from different areas which were early declared Red zones and highly vulnerable in case of COVID-19 owing to the community transmission. In Kashmir we are continuously grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic and all the academic institutions from bottom to top have been closed sinceMarch2020 when many positive cases came to appear. The situation in Kashmir of COVID-19 is still grim and no one wants to put his/her life in risk that could be the reckless and less caring approach for our health.
In view of COVID-19, B.Ed Students regular Batch 2018 calling for online exam for the first two combined semesters rather than offline
There is not any updated notification from UGC which is working under the aegis of MHRD guidelines surfacing on social media that our exams should be conducted offline in colleges and universities. It is yet to make a final decision taking all such grave points into consideration for conducting final session exams of this year either online or offline. Many baseless notifications from different sources sometimes strike to our mind and put us in dilemma. We are unable to guess it perfectly either we have to sit in the examination or to give online exam staying in our homes. But wear all aware about that the PG diploma courses Batch 2018 and backlog candidates through DDE gave online exam which were conducted in the month of July. We have come across with new update regarding B.Ed private colleges affiliated with the University of Kashmir wherein a notification was issued to their respective colleges that they should submit names of enrolled students along with other important requisites for conducting their online exam. Therefore, we humbly request you to follow the same approach for the B.Ed students that would be proven successful without having many apprehensions for the preventive measures to be taken for conducting online exam.
Thanking you in anticipation
Regards
