Handwara Police arrests a notorious drug peddler; Contraband substance recovered

Srinagar:Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Handwara have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established in Beighpora jurisdiction of Police Station Kralgund intercepted an individual identified as Lateef Ahmad Dar resident of Beighpora Kralgund. During checking officers were able to recover 35 grams of Heroin from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Kralgund where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 80/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kralgund and investigation in the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
