Srinagar: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Sunday held a special prayer meet at GMC Srinagar for speedy recovery of its President Dr Nisar ul Hassan.

DAK President tested positive for the virus on Wednesday after showing symptoms of the disease.

At the meet, General Secretary DAK Dr Suhail Shah while praying for his quick recovery has requested entire nation to remember Dr Nisar ul Hassan in prayers who never choose to stay away in this pandemic and instead persuaded others as well to attend the patients for all issues.

“Let’s pray to Allah that he gets well soon and becomes healthy so that he is back in the service of patients,” Shah said.

Dr Nisar who is also an influenza expert and Associate Professor of Medicine at GMC Srinagar has been at forefront in the fight against Covid-19.

He has been personally monitoring, evaluating and managing Covid-19 patients at SMHS hospital, and devising various treatment protocols by which many lives were saved.

On one hand he was attending patients and on the other hand he was involved in research, and giving recommendations and guidelines that have been acknowledged by various scientific bodies.

He has played a pivotal role in making people aware about various aspects of Covid-19 that helped in reducing the spread of the disease.

He was the one who informed the change in behavior of the virus in the valley few weeks back that activated concerned authorities for early intervention.

Dr Mir Mohd Iqbal Vice-President DAK said Dr Nisar has overcome many challenges in the past, and with his resolute determination and strong will- power, he will soon come out of the illness.

“Not only is he a role-model for medical fraternity, but he is an asset for the whole nation,” he said.(KNS)
