Webinar Series 2020-Meeting the Mentors concludes at Govt Polytechnic Jammu

Jammu: One-week Webinar Series- Meeting the Mentor, organized by Government Polytechnic College Jammu, concluded Thursday.

Four successful online sessions were conducted on Google Meet Platform and facilitating parallel live YouTube streaming.

The Webinar series which started on 5th August was inaugurated by Principal Secretary to School Education and Skill Development Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon.

A total of 775 students from across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, who had enrolled for the Webinar Series, participated enthusiastically in all the four sessions. The highlight of the sessions was open question answer section by students being answered directly by the mentor themselves related to future prospects and potential career for Diploma students.

The mentors, who interacted with students were Er. Jagdeep Singh, Technical Specialist at Cummins Inc, USA, Er. Brajveer Singh, Technical Specialist at Department of Atomic Energy, GOI, Er. Kuldeep Singh Gandralia, Entrepreneur with an industrial set up Prayog Industries Ltd and the mentor for the final session was alumni of Government polytechnic Jammu, Er. Amit Khullar presently serving as Wing Commander in Indian Air Force.

Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic Jammu, thanked the mentors for guiding the students to various potential career options and making the future nation builders acquaint to bound of opportunities that lay ahead of them.

The sessions were attended by Joint Directors of Polytechnic and Joint Directors of ITI of Jammu and Kashmir Division, Principals of various Polytechnics of Jammu and Kashmir Division, Superintendents of ITI of Jammu and Kashmir Division, HODs, faculty members and various students of polytechnic sector from both Jammu and Kashmir Division.

The member of the organizing committee were Rajesh Khajuria, TPO, Er. Ajay Thapa, Er. Jasdeep Kour, Er. Shoket Ali and Er. Akash Dusgotra.

The session was moderated by Er. Jasdeep Kour, Lecturer Government Polytechnic Jammu and the vote of thanks was presented by Rajesh Khajuria, Training & Placement Officer.
