JKTJAC appeals DESK to review IMPACT target, time bound promotion process

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) here on Wednesday appealed Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) to review the target for Integrated multidisciplinary professional advancement Course for teachers (IMPACT) and the hindrances created in time-bound promotion process for teachers.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday the chairman JKTJAC Gazi Abdul Aziz said ” We welcome the IMPACT training aimed at upgrading the teaching skills of teachers, but at the same time making a particular section of teachers (grade-ll and grade-III) it’s target is non-uniform approach”. He also said that this non-uniformity has created several negative apprehensions among the teachers about IMPACT. Chairman appealed Director School Education Kashmir that if IMPACT is really mandatory for teachers then all teachers have to be brought under this course irrespective of their cadre.
Chairman JKTJAC also said “some officials in school education department also make some unnecessary hindrances in carrying out the process of time bound promotion of teachers, by which teachers face difficultie”s. He has appealed Director School Education Kashmir to intervene in the matter and make the process smooth and easy for teachers.
