Div Com (K) takes stock of I-Day arrangements at S K Stadium

Srinagar : The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole Tuesday visited S.K Stadium Srinagar to take stock of the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of Independence Day 2020 function.
The main function shall be held at the stadium, where Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir, Union Territory, Manoj Sinha shall hoist the National Flag and take salute at the March- past.
At the outset, the Div Com stressed upon concerned officers to ensure fool-proof arrangements for smooth conduct of Independence Day function and added that there shall be no relaxations to any loopholes.
He instructed them to ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 protocol while holding functions in Srinagar and other districts.
He also instructed the concerned that students who can’t participate in parade and cultural events due to Covid-19, however, shall participate through digital platforms.
The Div Com directed concerned to install LEDs at public places to ensure live- telecasting of programs for wide publicity.
During visit, the Div Com said all those participating in March-past and cultural events shall undergo antigen testing as a precautionary measure to ensure safety and containment of Covid-19.
Besides, he said participants shall also be allowed to attend the function after their temperature check up is conducted through thermal guns at all entry points.
During the visit, the Div Com also inspected the various galleries and reviewed arrangements for Covid warriors to be accommodated at one of the Pavilion for recognition of their services, they have rendered during pandemic.
The Div Com also took stock of security arrangements, traffic, security passes, seating arrangements, refreshment, changing room facilities, drinking water and sanitary facility, separate parking arrangements, decoration, commentators, PAS, Power and water supply, sanitation, medicare facilities, mobile toilet, invitation cards, cultural activities and directed concerned to ensure all arrangement are put in place for smooth conduct of the function.
The Div Com on the occasion was accompanied by IG Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, DC Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and other civil administration and police officers were also present on the occasion.
