SRINAGAR: The Academy of Eco Science (AOES) in collaboration with Centre for Environment Science and Climate Resilient Agriculture (CESCRA), IARI New Delhi organized an International Web-Conference on “Sustainable Environment and Agriculture: Technological Progressions and Transitions” here today.
The conference was an initiative to draw on synergies and strengths in order to make our planet more sustainable, safe and inclusive besides expanding the network of AOES for larger good of our environment.
About 150 participants including academicians, scientists, researchers, students, planners and policy makers from all over India and abroad with representative participants from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, China, and Indonesia participated in the conference. A total of 101 conference papers were submitted by the participants to the conference, of which, 10 papers were selected for oral presentation, which were adjudged, independently by Dr. Abeer Haseem, King Saud University Saudi Arabia.
Lead lectures were delivered by Dr. Dilfuza Egamberdieva –ZALF Müncheberg Germany and Dr. Amjad M. Hussaini- SKUAST-K J&K, India and Visiting Scientist University of Oxford UK.
The two technical sessions were respectively chaired by Dr. Abeer Hshem KSA Saudi Arabia and Dr. Arshid Jhangir, University of Kashmir. Prof. Shakeel A. Khan Principal Scientist, CESCRA, IARI New Delhi was the Chairman while Dr. Javid A Parray was the convener and Dr. Suhaib A Bandh was the Organizing Secretary of the conference.
Dr. Bandh in his opening remarks and conference report deliberated upon the different dimensions of sustainability of environment and agriculture.
