Kashmir Markaz Adab-w-Saqafat, conducts on – line prog to pay tribute to writer, broadcaster late Awtar Krishan Rehbar

Chrari Sharief (Budgam):Glowing tributes were on Friday paid to prolific writer, critic and ace broadcaster, Late Awtar Krishan Rehbar, who passed away at Delhi last week. In this connection an impressive on- line function was organized by Kashmir Markaz Adab-w-Saqafat, Chrari sharief, which was presided by prominent poet and writer, Professor Muhammad Zaman Azurda. Dr. Sohan Lal Koul was chief guest on the occasion.
Many prominent writers, scholars and literary figures participated in the on- line programme and paid rich tribute to Late Awtar krishan Rehbar. The speakers remembered contribution of Awtar krishan Rehbar in promotion and preservation of of kashmiri language and literature.
Those who paid thier tributes to late Awtar krishan Rehbar included, Dr. Gori Shankar Raina from Delhi, Professor R K Bhat from Mysore, Shanti Veer Koul from Noida, Delhi, Dr Roop Krishan Bhat., Dr Shaad Ramzan, Dr Gazanfar Ali, Rahim Rehbar, Dr Satish Vimal, Ab Ahad Hajini, Mushtaq Mehram, Mtr Batool Gowhar, Ab Ahad Farhad, professor Bashar Bashir, Wali Mohd Aseer Kashtwari, Rajesh Raina,Mushtaq Ali, Professor Nusrat Andrabi, vetern theatre and film Director, M K Raina, Gh Rasool Josh, Saneeta Raina, Bashir Chirag
While paying their respects and tribute to the reputed broadcaster and writer Late Awtar krishan Rehbar, speakers described his demise as a huge loss to the literary matrix of kashmir. They eulogised his contribution to the kashmiri language and literature and said Awtar krishan Rebar was a renowned playwright in Kashmiri, an ace short story writer and a veteran literary historian .
Mushtaq Mehram while paying rich tribute to Late Awtar krishan Rehbar said that as a s enior producer at Radio kashmir, Srinagar, he was in charge of many prestigious Kashmiri programmes including ” Sangramaal ” ,which enjoyed huge listening amongst the writers, scholars and common listeners. Professor Shaad Ramzan while paying his respects to Late Awtar krishan Rehbar said ” His departure is a great loss both to the Broadcasting as well as to the literary landscape of kashmir.
Professor Mohd Zaman Azurda in his presidential remarks paid glowing tribute to Late Awtar krishan Rehbar and said he was a distinguished scholar and playwright adding that Rehabar had two collections of Kashmiri short stories to his credit for which he was honoured with highest Sahitya Acaemy award .His book History of Kashmiri literature from 1300 to 1800 AD was highly recognized and acclaimed in the literary circles . He said Rehbar’s another analytical book in the form of essays on the literary works of the famous devotional poet Krishna joo Razdan, titled “Soen Sheen”was also highly acclaimed. Secretary, Kashmir Markaz Adab-w- Saqafat, Inayat Gul in his welcome address highlighted outstanding literary works of Late A K Rehbar and said his contribution would be written in golden words in the history of kashmiri language and literature. The proceedings of the on – line programme were conducted by Ibn-e-Shahbaz beautifully, in a very professional manner . Syed Arshid shah, Akhtar Hussain and omar Qureshi offered their technical assistance in conducting the On- line program.
