Moments of triumph for IAS qualifiers on a mourning day in Kashmir

While the people of Jammu & Kashmir were about to mourn the maiden anniversary of last year’s August 5, decisions that stripped them of the special status governed by Article 370 and Article 35 A and downgraded a glorious state of yesteryears to two union territories, more than a dozen IAS qualifiers brought smiles to millions of gloomy faces in both Kashmir valley and as well as Jammu division. Though the success of 13 IAS qualifiers won’t restore either the special sratus or the statehood to Jammu & Kashmir but their brilliant performance in the  most prestigious All India Service examination has sent out a message that youth of Jammu & Kashmir have the courage and talent to change challenges into opportunities. While the domicile law designed to restrict the job rights of Jammu & Kashmir youth in their own homeland, the promising 13 IAS qualifiers of Jammu & Kashmir have set the stage to emerge as the leaders of developmental processes in other states of the country. So the BJP led central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has to get ready to hear the sermons of these over a dozen Kashmir youngsters on development instead of delivering sermons of development to Kashmiris in Kashmir as they are the real leaders of a collapsing economy and a selective developmental process both within and outside Jammu & Kashmir. Broadly speaking the brilliant performance of more than a dozen youth of Jammu & Kashmir in an year of security clampdown and internet shutdown speaks volumes about their capacity to take on even the biggest challenges at a young age and they would surely establish professional supremacy over their contemporaries in other parts of the country. The success of over a dozen IAS qualifiers has not only given moments of triumph on a mourning day to the millions of people in Jammu & Kashmir but it a source of inspiration for the young souls of Jammu and Kashmir to qualify the prestigious All India Services Examinations in coming years for their placement in the highest institutions of the governance within and outside Jammu and Kashmir.

Hurting and humiliating it is that BJP leaders and workers were free to celebrate anniversary of last year’s August 5 decisions taken to belittle the people of Jammu & Kashmir but frontline mainstream leaders and others were stripped of the right to protest and right to assemble at a particular for a particular discussion within the domain of the Indian constitution.

Ironically even on the day of the grand success of  over a dozen youngsters in the most prestigious All India Services Examination , a strict clampdown  and preventive detention of released mainstream leaders imposed to foil their maiden meeting after August 5,2019 has sent out a message that selective detentions for selective celebrations is the political bench mark of the BJP led NDA Government commanded and controlled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Let one and all understand that selective democracy is dangerous for the peace and prosperity of any country. The  Jammu and Kashmir leadership will surely set the agenda for political empowerment and course correction of last year’s August 5 decisions the way 13 promising youth have set the stage for their role in the highest institutions of  governance in Jammu & Kashmir and other parts of the country.
