Srinagar: A male body was recovered from Nallah Sindh in Sumbal Balla Gund in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday morning.
An official said the local residents spotted the body floating in Nallah Sindh and informed police immediately.
He said a police team reached the spot and retrieved the body. The body was identified as Akbar Ali, 25, son of Qasim Balti of Balti Kullan in Kangan area of Ganderbal who was missing since July 22 this year.
Meanwhile, a DNA sample has been taken and has been sent to the forensic lab following which the body was handed over the body to his family members, the official said.
He said that a case under relevant sections of law has been also registered and further investigation is going on
