Srinagar/Aug,4: Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JK CSF) Tuesday said that the August 5, 2019 will be remembered as black day in the political history of Jammu and Kashmir as on this day the political rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir were suppressed and snatched unconstitutionally by way of passing the laws without taking the real stakeholders on board.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday the
JK CSF Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani impressed upon the central government to roll back it’s decision of August 5, 2019 that was virtually an onslaught on the constitutional rights , political rights , economic rights and cultural rights. He said the decisions were also an onslaught on the resources of J&K as on this day the special status of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state governed by Article 370 and Article 35 A was scrapped . Khan termed the post clampdown situation that last for over a year a setback to the politics of dissent as all the political voices were kept behind bars and some of them continue to remain under detention .
Wani said that people of Jammu and Kashmir irrespective of caste , creed ,colour, region and religion rejected the decision of August 5, 2019 & will never compromise on demographic change.
Wani demanded the release of all detained poltical leaders, rollback of August 5 2019 orders and a fresh start of dialogue for addressing the genuine aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir
