Srinagar: Amid spurt in the number of COVID cases, the district administration Pulwama has decided to continue with the restrictions to prevent the virus from spreading.
“In view of continuous spurt of COVID positive cases and resultant deaths; restrictions shall continue till the morning of August 06th in the district. However, essential services and supplies shall continue to operate,” the officials said.
“Situation in Pulwama is quite alarming as double digit surfacing of cases on a daily basis has put the health authorities on alert. Out of total 1395 cases, 651 cases are active positive besides the death toll rising to 19,” they said.
Accordingly, to safeguard lives, they said public health and in order to break the chain of infection, district administration has directed to restrict social gatherings and congregations.
Already for the ease of public, they said the relaxations were granted by the Administration for regulated and roaster wise opening of shops for three days ending on 30th July.
Accordingly, all the residents have been appealed to cooperate and strictly abide by the social distancing norms and SOPs. “Universal usage of face masks is most important to break the transmission chain,” they said
