Jeddah: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has appealed to pilgrims who have been fortunate to perform this year’s hajj rites to observe social distancing in order to protect public health.
OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen urged the pilgrims to follow the health procedures laid down by the relevant agencies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect themselves, their relatives and all pilgrims. He also called on the pilgrims to avail themselves of all the facilities – health and organizational services – provided by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Al-Othaimeen renewed his appreciation to the Kingdom, chair of the 14th Islamic Summit, under the leadership of King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince HRH Prince Mohamed Ibn Salman, may Allah preserve them, for ensuring that the hajj rites went ahead despite the Coronavirus pandemic that has ravaged the world. , (UNA-OIC)
