Bhagat launches Labour Deptt’s mission mode project for Labourers at Ang

Ang: Commissioner Secretary Labour & Employment, Saurabh Baghat Wednesday launched mission mode project for labourers of Anantnag District.
While launching the project, Saurabh Baghat stressed upon the officers of the concerned department to ensure speedy registration of the building and other construction workers between the age group of 18-60, so that they can avail the benefits of the welfare schemes of the Board . He said the workers group should be informed to register themselves online on a website www.jkbocw.gov.in.
He also emphasized upon the officers to organize awareness camps to aware people about welfare schemes which are in vogue and ensure mass registration of the working class with the department.
The Commissioner Secretary said government is keen about upliftment of labour class and that is why bank loan is being provided to this community to establish their income generating units with low interest rates.
While speaking on the occasion, Labour Commissioner, Abdul Rashid War highlighted various welfare schemes of the department, and said health and safety of building and construction workers is the priority of the department.
The department is at the beck and call of the labour community and is providing all possible support to this community like marriage assistance, education assistance etc, he said.
He also said during current pandemic, department has paid 4000 rupees to every registered labour.
Talking about the disabilities to labourers because of accidents during work, he said department has provisions for their survival like relief for permanent, temporary disability.
Later, the Commissioner Secretary distributed financial assistance worth rupees 49,67,292 among the 438 beneficiaries for education, disability and chronic disease.
ADC, Gh. Hassan Sheikh; Assistant labour Commissioner, Dr. Nida Yousuf and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
