SMC  launches an extensive sanitation drive ahead of Eid-ul-Azha..

Srinagar/July,28 : Srinagar Municipal  Corporation Tuesday  launched an extensive two day sanitation special  drive for upcoming Eid.. The drive took off from SK park in presence of Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali who was accompanied by several other SMC officers including  Joint Commissioner Adm Syed Abul Qasim ,Secretary SMC Sofi Akbar,  Chief Sanitation Officer Mudasir Banday and Ward Officer  Buja.

All the ward officers as directed earlier completely monitored the sanitation drives that started in each ward of Srinagar city respectively including Batamaloo, Khanyar, Sonwar, Lal chowk,  Hazratbal , Eidgah , Soura, etc. During these two days the city will be extensively cleaned up.Sanitation will be conducted in all the unattended and bad spots. Commissioner SMC  Mr Gazanfar Ali   In this regard has also  passed on directions to launch Continuous upgraded Sanitation at various shrines, mosques  including Peer Dastagear Sahib, Jamia Masjid, Shaahi Hamdaan ,Naksh band sahib, Hazratbal etc; ahead of Eid ul Azha. He further stressed that all the machinery including hopper vehicles, sweeping machines shall be pressed into service to clean up various areas especially lanes, by lanes, Main roads ,religious places thoroughly with lime powder, fumigation and other  disinfectants and other necessary arrangements to be looked into for the upcoming festival of EID-UL- Azha…

While stressing on street lights Mr Ali said that  street lights shall be fully functional with the installation of more street  lights where ever importantly  required so that people do not face any inconvenience and in case of defunct streetlights, the electric wing has been directed to go for repairing of same
