Srinagar: A plantation drive was organized on Saturday by Naugam Bridge in Mawer area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.
Launching the plantation drive the officials said tree plantation is an important activity to protect environment with focus on fight against pollution and global warming. Divisional Forest Officer Langate, children and local villagers of Mawar Valley took part in the plantation drive . The plantation drive commenced with plantation of saplings by Mohd Shafi Malla, Range Officer Mawar. A message to protect the environment from degradation was also shared with all participants. A total of more than 300 saplings were planted in various areas of Naugam.
