DGAT reviews functioning of Treasuries in Jammu divn

Jammu: A meeting of District Treasury Officers, City Treasury Officers of Jammu Province was held Saturday to review the functioning of the Treasuries.

Speaking at the meeting, the Director General Accounts & Treasuries, Mahesh Dass said the Treasuries are the face of Finance Department and advised the officers to ensure strict adherence to codal provisions for its smooth and transparent functioning. He laid emphasis on the strict implementation of the various orders/circulars/directives issued by the Finance Department/DGAT from time to time. He also laid special emphasis on clearance of audit paras, OB suspense and Red DC accounts.
While reviewing the Computerization of Treasuries, the DGAT threw light on the importance of computerization/online transaction and directed all the Treasury Officers to submit the computerized accounts to the concerned quarters within stipulated time frame. He also sensitized the participating officers to ensure timely uploading of the NPS subscription to the Trustee Bank within stipulated time and any old unposted amount should be uploaded. Performance Indicators also need to be reviewed and updated.
The DGAT informed that the Government is going to implement “e-Kuber Payment System” in Jammu and Kashmir. He advised the District Treasury Officers to acquaint the Sub-Treasury Officers regarding the basic framework of e-Kuber Payment System for smooth switching over to it.
