Srinagar: Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Kashmir, Friday clarified that punching of fingerprints and Biometric Authentication on POS machines while drawing the ration for the months of July and August 2020 is not mandatory, but is only voluntary.
As per an official communiqué, the department has made it clear that the machines will remain active in all the shops in case any beneficiary from another state or UT wishes to draw his or her ration under One Nation One Ration Card.
The punching and Biometrics Authentication shall however be compulsory from September, 2020 for all the beneficiaries.
