MP Jugal Kishore reviews achievements of CS schemes in Jammu distt at DISHA meet

Jammu: Member Parliament, Jammu-Poonch constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma Thursday chaired a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee – ‘DISHA’ to review the physical and financial achievements under various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in Jammu district.
The meeting was attended by Member Parliament Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas; District Development Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan; Commissioner JMC, Avny Lawasa; VC JDA, Babila Rakwal; Additional District Development Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Planning Officer, besides officers of Rural Development Department, Health, Social Welfare, JPDCL, Jal Shakti, PWD, Education, Agriculture, NHAI, NHIDCL and other concerned departments.
At the outset, the DDC gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the achievements and progress made in the district under various schemes and informed about the present status of various ongoing developmental projects being taken up by concerned departments.
The MP took a comprehensive review of the physical and financial achievements of PMGSY, PMAY-G, NRLM, PMUJ, PMKSY, PMUY, SAUBHAGYA, IWMP, Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen, Ayushman Bharat, MGNREGA, 14th FC, Back to Village, Languishing projects and other central sponsored schemes being implemented by various departments. The MP also reviewed the progress of work on Ring Road Project, Jammu Smart City Project and four lane Jammu-Akhnoor Road Project. He stressed upon the concerned officers to expedite the pace of work on all these projects for their timely completion.
The DDC apprised the MP about the action taken report on the decisions taken in the previous meeting of DISHA. She also informed about the number of works completed under MGNREGA. It was informed that in the year 2020-21 total 4930 works were taken up in the district under MGNREGA out of which 1781 works have been completed, while 3149 works are in progress which includes, water conservation and water harvesting, micro irrigation works, flood control and protection various ponds, check dams, vermi compost units .
While reviewing Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, it was informed that the district has achieved 84 percent coverage. Regarding IWMP it was informed that out of total 70 works 14 works have been completed while work on 56 is in progress. Under RURBAN Mission, it was informed that 27 projects have been completed while work on 18 projects is in progress. Regarding Jammu Smart City Project it was informed that 3 projects have been completed and 15 projects are under execution.
All the concerned officers apprised the MP about the present status of schemes being implemented by their respective departments.
The MP stressed on expediting work on all the new and pending projects. He also emphasized on effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in the district.
The MP emphasized on optimum utilization of available resources and instructed the concerned officers for regular monitoring and follow- up of all ongoing development works to ensure quality parameters.
