Labour deptt Reasi provides financial assistance to NoK of deceased worker

Reasi: The Labour Department Reasi tod provided death compensation of Rs 2.05 Lakh to the dependents of a deceased worker.
The Deceased Gopal Krishan S/o Kirpa Ram R/o Kanthan, Tehsil Arnas was working with GREF.
The assistance was provided under Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Scheme.
Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib handed over the cheque to the bereaved family. She also highlighted Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan Dhan Yojana and directed the concerned department to register maximum genuine workers from far flung areas from across district Reasi after following explicit guidelines issued under Standard Operating Procedure. She stressed on to ensure that genuine workers get the relief through Aadhar based DBT.
Earlier, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pradyot Gupta highlighted different components of the scheme like COVID relief, Education Assistance for children of workers, Medical Assistance, Disability Assistance etc. as well as registration process under the said scheme.
He informed that the Labour Department Reasi has extended help to a large number of registered workers to enable them to overcome the impact of ongoing pandemic. He said the department has so far disbursed an amount of Rs 23.73 lakh as COVID relief to the eligible construction workers in four installments.
