DC Shopian chairs meeting of RDD and PRIs

Shopian: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Tuesday convened a meeting of RDD and PRIs to discuss the modus operandi in tackling Coronavirus pandemic in the district.
The DC exhorted PRIs to intensify their efforts against COVID war, he urged them to put in place ancillary measures so that people are properly educated about the preventive and healthy measures that need to be adopted at individual levels.
During the meeting special focus was laid on inculcating the habits of cleanliness and frequent hand washing, maintenance of social distance, usage of masks and adoption of other SOPs related to COVID.
The DC directed mass awareness among the public through wall paintings, holding of awareness camps, door to door campaigns and fumigation of the public places.
He sought full cooperation from the PRIs in tracing out the symptomatic persons and liasoning with other departments especially health and revenue.
Among others, the meeting was attended by OSD COVID, District Panchayat Officer, Block Development Officers and members of Panchayat Raj Institutions.
