Srinagar/July, 20: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JK CSF) Ab Qayoom Wani on Monday accused Jammu and Kashmir Bank (JK Bank) of putting lives of senior citizens ,pensioners in danger amid Covid 19.
In a statement issued here on Monday JK CSF Chief Wani expressed serious concerns over JK Bank’s new policy of asking old aged people especially Pensioners to be physically present for any kind of verification. Wani said that the forum isn’t against asking pensioners to appear in person but the Bank managers must understand that people above the age of 60 are much prone to Covid-19 spread threat .
Wani asked that when people are seen making fun of SOP’s outside almost all the Bank Branches, how can our Senior Citizens be safe there amid the threat of this pandemic.
Wani impressed upon the concerned authorities to consider the presence of pensioner’s Wards (if needed in case of any verification) till the threat of Covid-19 is over.
He said that we need to pay respect to our senior citizens be they pensioners or anyone else adding that any institution found involved in humiliating senior citizens, Pensioners in particular and common people in general will face full resistance from JKCSF activists and leaders. Wani appealed the people to follow SOP’s at all levels especially outside all JK Bank Branches which have become vulnerable to COVID-19 pandemic spread threats.
Wani appealed people to avoid outing for the sake of humanity as the covid-19 has entered in community spread phase and people have to be extra careful to fight this dreaded virus .
