Kissan Mela under Kissan Pakhwada organized at Check Kawoosa Beerwah

Budgam: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi Saturday inaugurated a mega Kissan Mela at Narbal here, organized as part of ongoing ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ activities.
During the day long mela as many as 15 Departments had established their stalls demonstrating machinery and tools required for different kinds of agriculture and allied farming.
There were also trained and professional persons from Horticulture, Floriculture, Sericulture, Animal and sheep Husbandry and Fisheries departments present at these stalls imparting useful advice and latest techniques to the visiting farmers about the latest agriculture farming.
Jammu and Kashmir bank had established an awareness camp in the shape of a stall where professional bankers were minutely imparting all necessary information and requisite documentation process about obtaining KCC loans and other monetary facilities from the bank pertaining to different sectors of farming.
The bank on spot registered many applications from their concerned farmers regarding KCC loans and other schemes for onward process.
The Director on the occasion said celebrating Kissan Pakhwada has proven a pivotal aspect in imparting on spot awareness among the progressive farmers. He said there is a plan to organize such Kissan Melas across other regions of Kashmir division also.
Andrabi urged upon the farmer community to avail benefits under KCC scheme and many other schemes available for progressive farmers for their socio-economic growth so that the income of a farmer can be doubled in next 2 to 3 years.
Among others, SDM Beerwah, Chief Agriculture Officer Budgam, Lead Bank officer Budgam, Tehsildar Narbal and other concerned were present on the occasion besides a large gathering of farmers hailing from adjacent areas also attended the mela.
