JKTJAC resents against lengthy delay in  teacher’s time-bound promotion, Says ” it is a matter of concern”:

Srinagar/July, 19 :  Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) has voices it strong concerns against the unprecedented delay in  the time-bound promotion of teachers.

In a  joint statement  JKTJAC Chairman  Gazi Abdul Aziz and General Secretary Saleem Sagar,  said teachers whose In-situ promotion was due, have been waiting for the same from last two years and their files are yet to be approved by designated promotion committee.

They have said, ” In response to a letter from worthy  director school education Kashmir (DSEK) seeking clarification for promotion of Teacher grade II and Teacher grade III,  an order was issued from school education department civil secretariat Jammu  vide no. Edu/Acctts/190/2019/12 on 17/01/2020 for clarification regarding the same. According to  said   order the In-Situ promotion of  Teacher grade II and Teacher III was supposed to be taken immediately. But more than seven months have passed by, still the teachers are waiting for the same.

They said, as worthy director school education Kashmir (DSEK) had nominated  OSD (SSA) a member for clearing In-situ promotions vide circular no. 121-DSEK of 2020. The OSD recently informed the chief education officers of all the districts, that he would make himself personally  available at all districts to clear In-situ promotion classes of teachers.  He also issues a date and district wise roaster for the same. But for unknown reasons he failed to visit Anantnag and Ganderbal on July 13 and on July 18, the dates which were fixed for the said districts according to his roaster. On July 18, though he visited Bandipora, but according to teachers he has not cleared files but raised unnecessary queries there fore has put hurdles in the process of Time-bound promotion of teachers.

JKTJAC Chairman Gazi Abdul Aziz and General Secretary Saleem Sagar have said,” instead of making things easier, department is delaying the process of due promotion of teachers.  They expressed their resentment over this issue and  appealed the authorities  to expedite the process of promotion without any further delay.
