Jammu: The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri on Thursday ordered a magisterial probe into the alleged death of a local man in government medical college and associated hospital Rajouri due to negligence of doctors and unavailability of specialised doctors.
An elderly man identified as Dharam Paul son of Manohar Kumar, a resident of Mubarakhpura Karaiyaan village of Rajouri allegedly died due to medical negligence at government medical college and associated hospital Rajouri.
The family members later assembled outside the hospital gate and held a protest demonstration against the hospital authorities.
They alleged that the patient was admitted in hospital after complaining about chest pain in the wee hours on Thursday but a junior doctor attended the patient as there was no senior doctor or specialist in the hospital.
They said that the medical staff present in the hospital said that the patient has suffered cardiac arrest and needs specialised treatment.
The family members alleged that they were made to wait for about 5 hours to get the specialised treatment for the patient and ultimately the patient expired.
Later, additional SP HQrs Rajouri Liyaqat Ali and assistant commissioner Revenue HQrs, Mohammad Ashraf reached on the spot and pacified the protestors while assuring them that a probe will be conducted into the matter and negligence on behalf of any staffer will be dealt with strictly.
Meanwhile, deputy commissioner Rajouri, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh has ordered an inquiry into the matter and said that a team headed by ACR Rajouri, Mohammad Ashraf will conduct the probe
