Srinagar, Jammu: The Government on Tuesday informed that 346 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 56 from Jammu division and 290 from Kashmir division, have been reported Tuesday thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 11173. Also 08 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 01 from Jammu division and 07 from Kashmir Division.Moreover, 128 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 28 from Jammu Division and 100 from Kashmir Division.
Health officials said a CRPF man is among eight COVID-19 patients who died in last 24 hours in Jammu & Kashmir and with these fatalities the COVID-19 death toll has mounted to 196 in Jammu and Kashmir
A health official at SMHS hospital Srinagar said “ a 35-year-old CRPF man of 66 Bn CRPF Baramulla admitted on Monday this week died a day later on Tuesday”, adding that “ the CRPF man a resident of Nowshera Rajouri had tested positive immediately he was admitted at the hospital.”
Health officials at SKIMS Soura said “ a 60-year-old resident of Nadihal area of Baramulla district admitted on July 5 had tested positive died on Tuesday morning at the hospital in early morning hours”, adding that “ the patient was suffering from several critical ailments”.They also said that a 60 year old male from Tangmarg Baramulla admitted on July,13 tested positive after he died on Tuesday . “ The patient was suffering from many critical ailement”, they added
A healh official at SKIMS Medical College Hospital Bemina said that a 65-year-resident admitted on July 10, died on Tuesday” adding that “ the patients was suffering from many critical ailments”
Health officials at GMC Jammu said that A patient was undergoing treatment in GMC Jammu from last two days and was suffering from fever as well as some respiratory problems. “He was on oxygen support and attempts were made to provide him best possible treatment for life saving but he died.” said officials.
They said that the patient, aged 47, was posted in Directorate office of Agriculture department in Jammu.
A health official at GMC Anantnag said that two patients from Semthan and Anantnag tested positive four days after death. He said that they their last rites took place as per Covid-19 protocol. With eight more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 195 including 176 from Kashmir division and 18 from Jammu division
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 11173 positive cases, 4755 are Active Positive, 6223 have recovered and 195 have died; 18 in Jammu division and 177 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said out of 466333 test results available, 455160 samples have been tested as negative till July 14, 2020.
Additionally, till date 317904 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 38211 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 24 in Hospital Quarantine, 4,755 in hospital isolation and 45537 under home surveillance. Besides, 229182 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said Bandipora has 401 positive cases (including 16 cases reported Tuesday) with 103 Active Positive, 295 recovered (including 06 cases recovered Tuesday) and 03 deaths; Srinagar has 1933 positive cases (including 127 cases reported Tuesday) with 1357 Active Positive, 530 recovered (including 06 cases reported Tuesday), 46 deaths; Anantnag district has 860 positive cases (including 58 cases reported Tuesday), with 248 Active Positive, 597 recovered, 15 deaths; Baramulla has 1337 positive cases (including 11 cases reported Tuesday) with 727 Active Positive, 572 recovered (including 27 case recovered Tuesday), 38 deaths; Shopian has 929 positive cases (including 11 cases reported Tuesday) with 213 Active Positive, 699 recovered (including 02 cases recovered Tuesday) and 17 deaths; Kupwara has 805 positive cases (including 03 cases reported Tuesday) with 288 Active Positive, 506 recovered (including 33 cases reported Tuesday) and 11 deaths; Budgam has 586 positive cases (including 14 cases reported Tuesday) with 252 Active Positive and 320 recovered cases and 14 deaths; Ganderbal has 205 positive cases (including 04 cases reported Tuesday) with 101 active positive cases and 100 recoveries (including 10 cases recovered Tuesday) and 04 deaths; Kulgam has 1028 positive cases (including 07 cases reported Tuesday), with 328 Active Positive and 678 recoveries (including 10 cases recovered Tuesday) and 22 deaths and Pulwama reported 701 positive cases (including 39 cases reported Tuesday) with 322 active positive cases and 372 recovered (including 06 cases recovered Tuesday) and 07 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 524 positive cases (including 11 cases reported Tuesday) with 169 active positive cases and 344 recoveries (including 06 cases recovered Tuesday) and 11 deaths; Udhampur has 303 positive cases with 26 active positive cases, 276 recovered (including 03 cases recovered Tuesday) and 01 death; Samba has 269 positive cases (including 01 cases reported Tuesday) with 124 Active Positive and 144 recoveries (including 06 cases recovered Tuesday) and 01 death; Rajouri has 285 positive cases (including 10 cases reported Tuesday) with 191 active positive cases and 93 recovered (including 04 cases recovered Tuesday) and 01 death; Kathua has 326 positive cases (including 10 cases reported Tuesday) with 96 Active positive and 229 recovered (including 05 recovery Tuesday) and 01 death; Kishtwar has 55 positive cases (including 05 cases reported Tuesday) with 28 active positive cases and 27 recovered (including 02 cases recovered Tuesday); Ramban has 271 positive cases (including 01 case reported Tuesday) with 62 active positive and 209 recoveries; Reasi has 60 positive cases (including 03 cases reported Tuesday) with 21 active positive and 39 recovered; Poonch has 147 positive cases (including 01 case reported Tuesday) with 25 active positive and 121 recoveries and 01 death while Doda has 148 positive cases (including 14 cases reported Tuesday) with 74 active positive cases and 72 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered Tuesday) and 02 deaths.
According to the bulletin, of the total 11173 positive cases in J&K 2971 have been reported as travelers while 8202 as others.
The Bulletin said the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 metre from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.
As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
The bulletin again explained that early detection of COVID-19 can prevent the spread of disease so we need to be responsible for the well-being of ourselves and everyone around us. “Not disclosing symptoms could put life of individuals and their families at risk. In case of symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing report early. Do not fear, call COVID-19 helpline numbers and seek medical advice”.
Advisory has further exhorted upon the people not to step out of home, unless absolutely necessary. “If you have to move out for unavoidable reasons, ensure that you wear a mask and practice social distancing, personal hygiene and frequent handwashing with soap and water.”
In case of any emergency people can avail free ambulance services 24×7 at their doorsteps by calling on toll-free number 108 while as pregnant women and sick infants can avail free ambulance services by dialling toll-free number 102.
People can also call on toll-free national helpline number 1075; J&K COVID-19 Helpline Numbers 0191- 2549676 (UT level Cell), 0191-2520982, 0191-2674444, 0191-2674115 (For Jammu Division), 0194-2440283 & 0194-2430581 (For Kashmir Division) for support, guidance, and response to health-related queries on Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
Public is advised to strictly follow the advisories issued by the government from time to time and rely only on the information released by the government through the daily media bulletin to print and electronic media.
People are also advised to refrain from spreading rumours and pay no heed to them at the same time.
