DSEJ imparts Study Skill training to 14,000 students of 206 Jammu distt Govt Schools

Jammu: Directorate of School Education Jammu, overcoming the internet constraints and COVID -19 pandemic restrictions, imparted training to 315 Teacher Counsellors working in the counselling cells of High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools of Jammu district and 14000 students, using virtual platforms, in collaboration with Bharti Foundation during the lockdown period.
The online valedictory function was held to acknowledge the efforts of the DSEJ, Teacher Counsellors, Bharti Foundation, Counselling Cell DSEJ and students under the chairmanship of Director School Education, Anuradha Gupta, here Thursday.
As many as 315 Teacher counsellors from 206 Govt. Sec./ Hr. Sec. schools were trained by the Resource Persons of Bharti Foundation on Study Skills Module which included topics like Goal setting, Stress Management, Tackling Procrastination and Time Management. These Teacher Counsellors, in turn, imparted training to 14,000 students through online mode, video clips, audio clips, written material, flow charts, etc. for their holistic growth amid the lockdown.
The Director School Education complimented Bharti Foundation for successfully completing the training during these challenging times. She appreciated the efforts put in by the Teacher Counsellors for guiding the students, so that they may not lack behind in any respect and compete confidently with the rest of the world owing to the preparations. She requested the teaching community to document their experiences of the training period as well as their interactions with the students so that these can be published in the form of a booklet for the benefit of the rest of the teaching and students’ community and future references. She further instructed the concerned officials to add such training periods and accomplishments in the individual service records of the teachers for considerations in future and requirements by the department.
For the success and feedback of the students who got benefitted from this program, the Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, announced that this training module will be replicated in other districts of the Jammu division as well after incorporating covid-19 specific well-being issues.
Romesh Sharma, Head counselling cell DSEJ thanked Team Bharti Foundation, for complementing the efforts of the counselling cell DSEJ in professionalizing counselling services in schools. He added that these study skills modules will be added in counselling calendar so as to make them a regular feature in schools.
In the valedictory function, that was held through the online mode, here at Jammu, Bharti Foundation applauded the determination and efforts of the Teacher Counsellors for arranging the lectures for the students using different means so as to reach the maximum students number of students even during these tough and challenging times.
Teacher counsellors, while thanking Bharti Foundation for the motivation, cooperation & appreciation, expressed that it was the positive vision of the Resource Persons which guided them to achieve success. Terming this training as a life-time experience, they extended their gratitude to DSEJ for organising the training to boost their knowledge and morale.
Giving feedback, students conveyed their satisfaction and thanked Director Anuradha Gupta, Teacher Counsellors and Bharti Foundation for upgrading their knowledge and helping them in dealing with their problems related to examinations, stress, procrastination and other such related issues.
