Srinagar/July, 10 : Four more COVID-19 deaths reported from Srinagar hospitals on Friday mounted the COVID-19 death toll to 159 in Jammu and Kashmir .
Health officials said “a 75-year-old man of Dadsun village of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district admitted at S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKISM), Bemina on July 4 for pneumonia and diabetes had tested positive for COVID-19 but died on Friday afternoon after battling for life for about six days at the valley’s top referral hospital” .
The officials also confirmed the death of a 35-year-old Srinagar woman at SMHS hospital Srinagar saying that ” the patient was shifted Wednesday this week from SHMS hospital to Chest Disease hospital after she tested positive but she died on Friday morning at the summer capital’s medical college hospital”
Another COVID-19 death was reported at Chest Diseases Hospital Srinagar where the health officials said ” a patient of Habba Kadal area of old Srinagar city admitted at Chest Disease hospital on Tuesday this week had tested positive but died on Friday morning ”
Confirming yet another COVID-19 death at the Chest Diseases hospital Srinagar the health officials said “an 80-year-old resident of Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district admitted at CD hospital on July 4 for bilateral pneumoniahad tested positive for COVID-19, but died Thursday in the late evening hours.” With these four deaths the COVID-19 death toll has risen to 159 in Jammu and Kashmir .
