Syed Mustafa Ahmad

If Islam is the complete way of life, why it is not found anywhere in the world. Why is it confined to the holy books? Why rhetoric is found everywhere? Why is there no practical system on the ground? If the so-called enemies of Islam are being found praising for its complete system of living, why the so-called champions or custodians of Islam are found wandering in the maze of the different systems. If H.G. Wells, Bertrand Russell, George Bernard Shaw, etc., praise Islam for its complete system, why we fail in implementing that very system that has every attribute of being the best system of the world. But the question that arises is that What the obstacles are that come in the way of implementing of this complete system. There are many reasons responsible for this. They have been with us since 7th Century. When the last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) closed his eyes, the rot began to appear on the ground level. However, there is no fault in Islam itself or in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, but the way of looking at Islam after the death of Prophet Muhammad, changed considerably. It is this malaise that is the main theme of my article. The first and foremost cause responsible for this is that we never get guidance from the Constitution of Islam, the holy Qur’an. The holy Qur’an is the source of guidance. It guides every community at every stage of life. When this is the case then which thing forces the World in general and the Muslims in particular, in implementing the principles of the holy Qur’an. This is the first cause responsible for not having the Islamic State, where everything happens according to the divine plan and there is no space for chaos and confusion.
The Muslim is one who is the epitome of peace and tranquility. But the way of materialism is full of conflicts. In this situation, the Muslim will surely have to embrace Islam in its truest form.
The second cause responsible for this is that we worship the Prophets of Allah. If we study the holy books very minutely, we will never come across any reference or references where a Prophet of Allah advises his community to worship him. We are those followers who worship the Prophets of Islam. They were created by Allah for the purpose of revealing to the people that was best for them. They themselves were subordinate to the Creator. If this was not the case, Allah should have revealed to the Prophets to advise the people to worship them. So, this acts as a good reason for failing in implementing the principles of the Islamic State. The third cause responsible for this is that we imitate other systems of the world that lack in many aspects. Communism, Socialism, Feminism, Idealism, etc., have failed in one aspect or in other. They have failed miserably in providing real solace to the Society. If one aspect of life is advanced, other is severely distorted. This paradox is seen everywhere. For this paradox, Islam came as a soothing force to soothe the nerves of those communities that had previously done many wrongs on themselves. But when it comes to reality, these things are not in our fancies; let alone on the ground. The fourth and the last cause responsible for this is that we love materialism. In the holy Qur’an, it is clearly said that greed for materialism paves the way for destruction. The divinity sends calamities to those communities that only yearn for materialism. Our condition is such that we want to be the followers of Islam and still have the material things of the highest quality. This paradox is difficult to understand if a person is a Muslim. The Muslim is one who is the epitome of peace and tranquility. But the way of materialism is full of conflicts. In this situation, the Muslim will surely have to embrace Islam in its truest form. The above discussion has made it clear that there should be the Islamic State on the ground level. The grand slogans never capitalize but the smooth implementation of the laws of the Islamic State, can do miracles. So, the ball is in our court.
