DDC inspects ongoing works at receiving stations in Shopian

Shopian: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Chaudhry Mohammad Yaseen Monday inspected the ongoing construction works of Receiving Stations Mastpora, Keller and Arhama, Shopian.
The Receiving Station 6.3 MVA Mastpora, Keller constructed by Sub- Transmission Division (STD) Power Development Department (PDD) is coming up with an estimated cost of Rs. 3.4 crore and Receiving Station 10 MVA Arhama, Shopian is coming up with an estimated cost of Rs. 3 crore.
On the occasion, the DDC exhorted upon the concerned officers to mobilize all the resources for effective and timely completion of these Receiving Stations.
He said on the completion of these Receiving Stations the residents of these areas would get uninterrupted power supply and this way their long pending demands would get full-filled.
The DDC assured local populace that the district Administration is always on toes and committed to provide each and every possible help to the people of far-flung areas and stressed them for maintaining social distancing besides adopting SOP’s in letter and spirit to avoid the spread of COVID-19
Some of the people and deputations also met the District Development Commissioner and apprised him of their demands and other issues like potable drinking water facility, better road connectivity, macadamization and widening of roads etc.
The DDC listened to their grievances patiently and assured them that all their genuine demands would be fulfilled on priority, besides the labourers deployed for construction work of Receiving Stations also met the DDC and requested him for disbursement of their wages.
The DDC directed the concerned contractor for early release of their wages so that they could not suffer much more.
Executive Engineer Sub- Transmission Division (STD) and other concerned officers and officials were accompanied by the District Development Commissioner.
