A single statement makes or mars the credibility of the highest offices in the world and unfortunately during ongoing military standoff in Eastern Ladhak a single statement of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought into disrepute the credibility of not only the Prime Minister in person but also of his office which also issued a statement in contradiction to the ground reality at friction points on India-China border in eastern Ladhak. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself saying that not even an inch has not been occupied by the other country in Ladhak was in total contradiction to the ground reality as India demanded pull back of the Chinese troops from the friction points both at the military and as well diplomatic level engagements. Even naives can’t believe the words of Prime Minister when the negotiators at both the military and as well as diplomatic level talks in unambiguous terms asked China to pull back it’s troops to the original positions in Eastern Ladhak. Now even officials of the foreign ministry in Delhi say that China has agreed to pull back it’s troops to maintain status quou on it’s border with India in eastern Ladhak and words of the foreign ministry officials themselves are contradicting both the earlier statement of the Prime Minister and as wells a similar earlier statement issued from his (Prime Minister’s) office immediately after reports of Chinese intrusion in eastern Ladhak’s Galwan valley area hit the newspaper headlines both within and outside the country. The satellite images shown on leading news channels in Delhi too created doubts about the ground reality on India-China border in Galwan Valley area of Eastern Ladhak as even the Prime Minister’s recent visit to a military hospital in Ladhak created doubts in the minds of the people after questions were raised about the army’s health facility centre in Ladhak where Prime Minister was shown interacting with the troopers injured in recent clashes with Chinese army in Galawan valley area.
As the contradiction of words over the ground reality in eastern Ladhak has already brought into disrepute the credibility of both the country’s top helmsmen and as well as the highest offices they hold, it is for them to take care of their own individual credibility and also of the offices they hold in future.
Now when the reports of military pull back in eastern Ladhak are coming amid reports of a breakthrough in a telephonic conversation held between National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajeet Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister, the statement coming from the Chinese foreign ministry talks about only military disengagement and not the military pull back in eastern Ladhak but the officials of foreign ministry in Delhi talk about military pull back in Galwan valley area of eastern Ladhak and here again a slight contradiction of words is quiet visible in the statements of Chinese and Indian officials. As the contradiction of words over the ground reality in eastern Ladhak has already brought into disrepute the credibility of both the country’s top helmsmen and as well as the highest offices they hold, it is for them to take care of their own individual credibility and also of the offices they hold in future.
