Srinagar/July,6 : Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Sunday welcomed the Darbaar Move employees on reopening of the Civil Secretariat, which started functioning from the summer capital of Srinagar , as part of a nearly 150-year-old biannual practice known as the Darbar Move.
Commissioner SMC Gazanfar Ali who welcomed the move near TRC was accompanied by several officers of SMC including Secretary SMC Sofi Akbar. On the occasion, SMC along with IEC partners, Project Management Unit (PMSU) organized various programs including traditional ones, and also held placards carrying different messages on solid waste management and highlighted precautionary measures for prevention of Covid pandemic.
Ali stressed on the need of extensive and upgraded sanitation in view of ongoing pandemic and said that SMC employees have always been on forefront and in a state of readiness in conducting sterilization/ special sanitization special drives since outbreak of Covid 19 particularly in hospitals, quarantine centres and all those those residential places with the entire area, where from people turned out to be Covid positive. Earlier sterilization drive was also conducted in and around Civil Secretariat including its entire premises
