Srinagar/July,5 : Power supply snapped by Gusty winds on Sunday evening was restored barely in short span of two hours as Chief Engineer Power Development Department (Kashmir) Er Aijaz Ahmed rushed restoration teams immediately after strong winds and rains stopped at around 8.30 P.M in the evening .
Reports said that dozens of residential houses, electric transmission lines got damaged while trees were uprooted due to strong winds in several areas of north Kashmir. Chief Engineer PDD Kashmir Er Eijaz Ahmed when contacted told Kashmir Horizon “strong winds damaged transmission lines and uprooted electric poles across Kashmir but restoration teams deputed to almost all the worst hit places restored power supply in a short span of two hours”. He complimented the restoration for risking their lives in evening hours and doing a commendable job in a short span of two hours in a very difficult situation.
