Malla Bagh Encounter: CRPF man, militant killed in gunfight says IGP Kashmir

Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man and a militant were killed in an ongoing encounter that raged between forces and militants in Malla Bagh area of Srinagar on Thursday evening.

Officials told the news agency KNO that the gunfight broke out in the evening at Malla Bagh area of Srinagar outskirts.

“#Encounter has started at #Malbagh area of  #Srinagar. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir zone police tweeted.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar told KNO that a CRPF man and a militant were killed in the gunfight.

The operation, as per the officials is going on in Malla Bagh area of Srinagar outskirts.

IGP CRPF, Pramod Kumar Pandey told KNO that the firing has been stopped while the search has been launched in the area.

Moreover, the identification of the slain militant was being ascertained, they said—(KNO)
