Syed Mustafa Ahmad

In the age of conflict and confrontation, when everything seems to be going from bad to worse, there is something which keeps almost everybody going is: hope. What is hope? Hope is defined differently by different people according to situations and personalities. But the common thing in all the periods or ages is that hope prepares a person to see light at the end of the dark tunnel. It means when there are we crisis, hope only is the last weapon. Hope will remain relevant because our creation is in such a way that if we want to fail, we fail completely and if we want to progress, we can progress in any hardship. So, it is hope that only makes us optimistic about the coming times. But how can a person be hopeful? In an atmosphere of gloom, where hope will come from. If I have no money in my pocket and I need it at any rate, how I can get it. Many will suggest me to work hard and earn money. But if I work hard and there is no work, at that stage what I will do. Some will suggest me to find work. If I still don’t find work, what you will tell me. This is a long chain of events where somewhere a person is in quagmire. So, keeping this thing in mind, let me try to throw some light over the facts that can help us in being hopeful. The first and the foremost thing in this regard is that what is the reality of life. Until and unless, if we don’t know the reality of life, there is no possibility of being hopeful. If life is all about earning, spending, washing, etc., then there are very less chances of being hopeful. But if life is understood philosophically, there is a ray of hope that everything will be good. So, it is your way of looking at life that matters the most. If life is forever, plan accordingly. If this is not the case, still plan accordingly. Understand life and see the results in the way of hope.
We are here for a purpose and for that purpose; the necessary arrangements are already made. So, in short, knowing the creator and ourselves is the best way of being hopeful. Try to be optimistic and hope for the best.
The second thing in this way is that understand the creation plan of the Creator. He has sent us here for a purpose. We only are here to know the Creator and ourselves. He has arranged everything for our personality developments. He knows us better than others. He deliberately created us in this fashion. We work in haste. It is from the Creator. But He wants from us to work patiently. This paradox is difficult to understand till we understand Allah’s plan. If there is no work, you have to use all the resources to get it. In this endeavor, the reality of yours will come to the surface. It will act as a solid base for your personality development. When this is the case, no crisis will make you sad. You will always remain hopeful. The third and the last thing in this regard is that it is up to us to remain hopeful. If we know the Creator’s plan, there will eventually come a situation where we desire less and remain contented. Contentment is the best wealth. If a person’s basic needs are fulfilled, he or she is a wealthy person because 60% people in the world lack this facility. If I have a bag of rice for a month, I should remain contented that the bag at the present is sent by the Creator, He will again send it to me in the future. If I have a hundred rupee note in my pocket, it will come back to me because the Creator has planned everything for me in this life. So, we should try our best to remain hopeful. We are here for a purpose and for that purpose; the necessary arrangements are already made. So, in short, knowing the creator and ourselves is the best way of being hopeful. Try to be optimistic and hope for the best.
