DM Budgam urges Imams, Muftis for adhering COVID-19 related SOPs

Budgam: District Magistrate Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Wednesday convened a meeting of religious scholars, aimas, muftis of various jamia masajids, dargas located across the district.
While addressing the meeting, the DM said the aim of this meeting is to apprise the participants to adhere to the instructions envisaged under lockdown guidelines and ensure that no gathering of any kind assembles in any mosques or shrines in the district.
He said these steps have been taken to control the spread of deadly COVID-19 virus and as aimas and muftis are respected citizens all over, they shall impart guidance and ensure that people abide by all norms and maintain social distancing.
The DM urged upon imams to coordinate and cooperate with the Village Level Committees already set up for the purpose of creating awareness among people regarding do’s and don’ts of covid-19 pandemic.
He further instructed all SDMs to conduct public awareness program on COVID-19 pandemic in concerned division of the District.
The DM emphasized that, ‘‘as responsible citizens of the society, everyone has to come forward and show an element of discipline and sense of responsibility in fighting war against Covid-19 pandemic.
All aimas, muftis present during the meeting assured the DM of following all guidelines and instructions that were discussed in the meeting.
