Srinagar/July, 1 : A civilian and a CRPF man were on Wednesday morning killed n an attack on in North Kashmir’ Sopore town. Three more CRPF paramilitary troopers were injured in the shootout.
An official said ‘militants attacked a party of CRPF near model town Sopore during which one civilian and a CRPF man were killed’, adding that ‘three CRPF men were injured in the shoot out” .
Meanwhile reports quoted witnesses as saying that a police party once reached to the spot rescued a three-year- old boy, whose father was killed in cross firing. “He (boy) was wailing on the body of father who had received bullets. A police person carried the baby in his lap and took away,” they said.
An official confirmed the incident and identified slain CRPF personnel as Dipchand Verma’. ‘The injured CRPF personnel have been identified as constable Bhoya Rajesh, constable Deepak Patil and Nilesh Chawde’, the official said.
