Srinagar/July ,1 : Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Wednesday said that during his six months tenure as Kashmir Poice Chief 118 militants have been killed so far. Addressing a press conference at PCR Srinagar IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said he has completed his six months in Kashmir. “During this time we have killed 118 militants including 107 local and 11 foreign militants,” he said.
Divulging details the IGP said 57 militants of Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit, 22 Lashkar-e-Toiba militants, 7 ISJK, 7 AGH, and one from Al-Badar militant outfit were killed among these 118. IGP further said that around 129 youth joined militancy between January & June in 2020. During the same period this year, 67 youths joined militancy out of which 24 have been killed, 12 arrested & rest are active. “We urge parents to persuade their offspring to join the mainstream.” Meanwhile, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said LeT militant Usman Bhai is behind Sopore attack in which one civilian, one CRPF man was killed while three others sustained injuries.
