Dwivedi reviews working of I&C Deptt in Jmu Divn, calls for effective implementation of ANBA initiatives

Jammu: Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, Manoj Dwivedi Saturday reviewed the working of Industries & Commerce Department in Jammu division here at meeting, held in Udyog Bhawan.
Speaking at the meeting, Dwivedi exhorted upon General Managers of District Industries Centres (DIC)s to effectively pursue the implementation of provisions of announcements under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and provide inputs on the achievements made in their respective districts by keeping a close liaison with the Lead Bank Officer and the District Officer of State Bank of India.
The Commissioner Secretary gave a brief overview of the set of measures announced by the Union Finance Minister, under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan or Self Reliant Movement highlighting its five pillars Economy, Infrastructure, System, Vibrant Demography and Demand.
He said “Out of the total Package of Rs 20 Lakh Crore- equivalent to 10% of India`s GDP under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, the share dedicated to MSME has been pegged at Rs 3.0 Lakh Crore for grant of collateral Free Automatic Loans for Business including MSME, Rs 20000 Crores for Subordinate Debt for Stressed MSMEs and Rs 50,000 Crore for equity infusion for MSME through Fund of Funds.”
The Commissioner Secretary asked the General Managers to highlight any difficulties faced at ground level and give their suggestions.
Earlier, Director Industries & Commerce Jammu, Anoo Malhotra, gave a presentation on the achievements of the Industries & Commerce Department in the Division.
She highlighted that during 2019-20 all DICs of Jammu division have achieved their targets under the PMEGP. She informed that the Directorate has re-started the registration of Firms and Societies under the Central Act. It was informed that the department is organising regular awareness programs and the Directorate is in the process of compiling a compendium of all functional units. She also apprised the Commissioner Secretary about the issues encountered by the industrial units in their operation.
General Manager, DIC Jammu, Subah Mehta, apprised the Commissioner Secretary regarding progress made in registration of units for UAM, TReDS and IDS. She also put forth some difficulties faced in the said process.
General Manager, DIC, Kathua, Babu Ram, highlighted the resolution of issue of Industrialists for facilitating their movement from across Lakhanpur to their units in Kathua. General Manager, DIC, Samba, Sansar Chand sought waiver of charges to the Land agency in respect of units undertaking Additional Line of Activity.
General Manager, DIC, Udhampur, Suram Chand also apprised about the new land acquired for the Industrial purpose.
The meeting was also attended by MD J&K SICOP, Atul Sharma: Director Finance I&C Department, R.C Kotwal; Joint Directors of Industries, Trishala Kumari and Ved Prakash; CAO Dr. Tabassum; Additional Secretary I&C Kewal Krishan and other officers of the Department.
