New Delhi: Three militants were on Friday killed in a gunfight Chewar Ullar area of Tral tehsil of Pulwama district after a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launch on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. Two army men are reported to have been injured during the gunfight.
A police official said “the gunfight between the militants and sleuths of J&K Police, 42 Rashtriya Rifles and Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) erupted after the militants fired on a search party from their hiding place. As the forces personnel retaliated, the heavy exchange of fire continued till Friday morning and three militants were killed in the heavy exchange of fire”.
