Srinagar/June,25 : Dr. Mohan Singh, Director, Indian Systems of Medicine, J&K on Thursday complimented the AYUSH Staff (Doctors and other Non-Gazetted Staff) for their contributions in the ongoing fight against COVID-19 pandemic in Jammu & Kashmir.
Speaking at a series of events held to felicitate the COVID-19 health workers in Kashmir the Director ISM, J&K<, Dr Mohan Singh said that the Medical and paramedical staff of ISM have left no stone unturned in providing best AYUSH Health Care services to the masses during the challenging time of COVID-19 pandemic. He also said that as per the advisories of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, the AYUSH Staff provided exemplary services in the distribution of Immunity boosting AYUSH Medicines and single herbs like Unnab (Berr), Behidana (Bahl), Sapistan (Lasoda) and Amla, to front line workers of Health and Medical Education Department/Old age homes/PRIs/Police Department/ Administrative Units/Municipal Corporations/ Municipalities etc. Besides, AYUSH staff were also performing duties in Quarantine Centres, Surveillance Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Screening, IEC, District COVID-19 Control Rooms, etc. He also appreciated the efforts of AYUSH Staff in organizing the Yoga Week (from 14.06.2020 to 20.06.2020) and International Day of Yoga-2020 on 21st of June successfully. He said that International Day of Yoga-2020 was celebrated around the theme of “Yoga@Home and Yoga with Family” due to the COVID-19 pandemic and links were created on social/digital media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Zoom, etc. and on Zoom application as well.
Lieutenant Governor, J&K Shri. G.C Murmu, First Lady Dr. Samita Murmu, Advisors, Chief Secretary, Financial Commissioner H&ME Department, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, HoDs of Health & Medical Education Department etc also celebrated IDY-2020 from their homes using digital and social media platforms. He appreciated the role played by the District AYUSH team especially District Coordinators in celebrating the Yoga
Week and IDY-2020 and advised them to felicitate the team associated with the IDY-2020 with appreciation certificates and mementos. He also thanked the Departments of School Education, Higher Education, Youth Services & Sports and Skill Development for their convergence & valuable contribution for celebrating IDY-2020 by involving their staff and students and also in organizing online competitions at District levels. Practitioners and public regarding usage of AYUSH advisories and measures in prevention of Covid-19 through AYUSH Sanjavani mobile app for impact assessment study on 21st June, 2020 in which nearly 100 AYUSH practitioners participated. Director ISM, on the occasion requested all the participants to encourage the masses to download the Sanjavani App and avail benefits out of it. He also said that the Yoga Videos in bilingual languages Dogri & Kashmiri were also released by Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor at Raj Bhawan Jammu on 17th June 2020. These videos were also telecasted in TV Channels and on various social/digital media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Zoom, etc. A brief ceremony was held today on 24.06.2020 at Directorate of ISM, Indira Chowk Jammu for felicitating the AYUSH Staff in making the IDY-2020 a grand success, in which appreciation certificates and momentos were given by Dr. Mohan Singh, Director, ISM, J&K and other senior Officers of Directorate of ISM to the
staff associated with successful culmination of Yoga Week and IDY-2020. He emphasized to continue the practice of Yoga and make it a way of life for healthy well being.
