Prof Mohi Ud Din Hajni a unique pearl, will take forward his mission: Qayoom Wani

Srinagar: President Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum Abdul Qayoom Wani on Monday tributed noted scholar, writer intellectual and social worker late Prof. Mohi-ud-Din Hajni on his death anniversary for his unmatched contributions in the fields of art, culture and literature.
In a statement issued by JKCSF, Wani said that Professor Mohi Ud Din Hajni was a unique pearl among the poets of Kashmir who was tuned to the pain of common people at political,social cultural and economical level. “Late Hajini a native of Hajin, Sonawari, in north Kashmir was known in the fields of art culture and literature but to celebrate or observe his day remains his honest and indigenous features for representing the aspirations of people openly in every forum”, the statement reads. .
Chairmain JK CSF Wani said Late Hajni will be remembered always as an extraordinary legendary personality in the pages of the history .He was staunch honest person and never succumbed before pressure.
Wani reteriated that the life, literary works and social services of Hajini, describing him a great, bold and brave personality.
“He never succumbed to any pressure in promoting the ideals and values, both socio political,and cultural .He contributed a lot in promoting kashmiri language.
Wani said that adabi markaz kamraz in seventies was his concious effort in this direction, the forum which provided a ligtimate platform to poet’s writer’s and linguistics of kashmir it was the inherent objectives of this brain child of late hajini that renowned Kashmiri poets got together to display and protect the richness of Kashmiri art ,language and culture. Wani appreciated the role of AMK for highlighting the contribution and vision of late hajini.
Reiterating the pledge to take forward the mission of late Hajni, Wani called upon the JKCSF members and intellectuals to emulate his footprints
“Hajni was arrested and punished for raising voice against the autocratic rule of Dogra regime in the state. He was also put behind the bars twice in 1948 and 1965 for his political ideology,” the statement reads.
Wani reteriated that JKCSF will not hinder to take the mission of people like Professor Hajni ahead for the betterment of society in large.
