Srinagar/June,23 : Casual Employee’s Union (CEU) of R&B Division Kashmir staged a protest demonstration on Tuesday in the premises of the Chief Engineer (R&B) headquarters in Srinagar
Witnesses said that protestinf casual labourers while demanding regularization and release of their pending wages alleged that their wages are being withheld for the last two years.Saying that they are facing tough times as the department has not released their salaries for the last two years, they said employees “we are doing our duties regularly but the department has left our families in a lurch”alleging that they are suffering badly due to delays in the implementation of regularization policy.
The Union Vice President said “we too have families to feed them and children to study them but authorities have put the future of our children in trouble by not releasing the salaries”. Addressing the gathering of casual labourers/need-based workers, the Union President condemned the dilly delaying tactics of the J&K Government over the issues of casual labourers/ need-based engaged in (R&B) Department. They sought the intervention of the Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu led Government into the matter and appropriate instruction to the concerned authorities for regularization & release of pending wages at the earliest.
