Pulwama/ June, 21: Department of AYUSH (ISM) Pulwama in association with District Youth Services and Sports Pulwama today organized an online demonstration of Yoga through zoom app strictly following the directions and the protocol regarding the celebration of 6th International Day of Yoga.The theme of this year’s International Yoga Day has been YOGA @HOME AND YOGA WITH FAMILY.
The programme was joined by the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama ,Dr Raghav Langer ,all District officers , Public,students and employees who performed Yoga Asnas with their families through Zoom app whereas symbolic yoga demonstrations were performed at DPL,Distt Hospital,Distt Correctional Home,Quarantine Centres, Orphanage Center and Social Welfare Office following all the SOp’s with limited number of participants.
Speaking on the occasion , Deputy commissioner said that amidst global pandemic the International Yoga Day has been observed in homes and people including students and Govt employees have participated online , mindful of the social distancing norms. He said that Yoga is an International acclaimed practice and connects the physical self with spiritual self.
He added that the different asnas are effective in coordinating the sense organs and results in better health outcomes without any economic input .
The live demonstration started exactly at 7o’clock in the morning from the District Administrative Complex lawns.
Earlier, Department of Youth Services and Sports during the week long programme imparted the awareness of the day to General public and urged them to connect with the programme for performing Yoga Asnas at their homes.
It is pertinent to mention here that due to Global Pandemic no huge gatherings/functions were organized to perform Yog Annas but people were requested to mark their participation through online demonstration programmes from their respective homes to observe the Yoga Day.
