Srinagar/June,19 :ย Three more deaths reported from Kashmir on Friday mounted the COVID-19 death toll to 74 .A 15 day old new born baby is among the three COVID-19 patients declared dead on Friday at SKIMS Soura the Kashmir’s top referral hospital in summer capital Srinagar, said officials.
Health officials said at SKIMS Soura “A 15-day-old baby of Bemina Srinagar died on Friday morning after testing positive last Wednesday”, adding that ” the baby was a case of aortic stenosis with CCF”. This is the first death of a new born baby due to COVID-19.
“An 80-year-old resident of the Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district also died on Friday morning at SKIMS Soura”, the health officials at SKIMS Soura said, adding that “the patient admitted at the top referral hospital on June 17 was suffering from hypertension and cardiac disorder and had tested positive for COVID-19 a day after his admission at the hospital”
Health officials at SKIMS Soura also confirmed the death of yet another COVID-19 patient, saying that “a 79-year-old resident of Nowshera area of Srinagar, who had tested positive for COVID-19, died in the night intervening Thursday and Friday “, adding that “the patient was admitted to the hospital on June 8 and was suffering from hypertension, hypothyroidism, with bilateral chest infiltrate. He had tested positive for COVID-19”. With these new three deaths, the COVID-19 death toll has mounter to 74 in Jammu and Kashmir.
