Hakeem hails scraping of discriminatory SRO-202, seeks central employment package for the unemployed youth

Srinagar: Chairman People’s Democratic Front PDF and former minister Hakeem Mohammad Haseen on Tuesday welcomed the decision to scrap SRO-202, saying that, it was a great injustice with the educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement Issued on Tuesday, Hakeem while appreciating the decision to nullify SRO 202 , said that hundreds of educated youth appointed under the harsh SRO from 2015 , when it was implemented amid stiff opposition from the public , have suffered a lot not only monetarily but psychologically also. He has urged the Lieutenant Governor , G. C. Marmu to compensate those youth who have suffered due to SRO 202. He has also demanded to cancel recently announced recruitment rules for class 4th posts adding that all the available vacancies in various government and semi government departments should be reserved exclusively for the local youth of Jammu and Kashmir. He said new recruitment policy will open a floodgate for entry of all outside state applicants against various vacancies in Jammu and Kashmir.
Hakeem urged the Central government to announce a comprehensive employment package for unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmur to enable them live a dignified life adding that in absence of industries in the valley ,the unemployed youth were largely exposed to mental and psychological disorders. He has urged the government to expedite the recruitment process against all available vacancies so that local youth could get get some respite.
