Srinagar/June,16: Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation Junaid Azim Mattu Tuesday morning resigned after loosing trust vote moved again him by the Corporator. BJP had already hinted that Matoo may go as Mayor SMC as most of the corporators have turned against him.
Mattu announced the development on twitter as he wrote “I respect the verdict of the Corporation. The seemingly unthinkable seems to have happened as @JKNC_ and @BJP4India have come together in Srinagar. But more on that later”, adding that “Time to spend some time with my family after nearly four months of our war against #COVID19”.Mattu also changed his twitter bio to “Former Mayor of Srinagar”.
