Srinagar :Jammu and Kashmir Teaches Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) has hailed the decision of worthy Principal Secretary Education Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon (IAS) to relieve 196 teachers, masters and lecturers, from non-teaching assignments who were overstaying in administrative offices including the school education directorates and termed it a welcome step.
Talking to Kashmir Horizon Saleeem Sagar the state general secretary JKTJAC said, that there was a dearth of teaching staff in the schools, at the same time hundreds of teachers were deployed at zones , DIETs, SIE and at direction offices. Though they were deployed to provide academic support to schools, but unfortunately meximum of them had taken over to clerical work.
He said , the organisation wanted it’s teachers to work in schools and not to become subordinates in different offices, which is the job of forth class employees. “It is a prestige for a nation builder to do the basic job (teaching) for which he has been appointed instead of distancing from it”, he added. He further said that, they are the competent lot to do good, so there is a dire need of them in schools.
Saleeem Sagar also said, ” there are still hundreds of teachrs who have been engaged by officers for official work, who also need to be relieved to schools, so that the dearth of teaching staff would be fulfilled. I hope those teachers whoud work in schools with shoulder to shoulder to their colleague teachers, which in real sense means the academic support.
