Srinagar/June,16: Employees Joint Consultative Committee Kashmir under the banner of EJCC held a peaceful protest demonstration on Tuesday here at the Directorate Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Kashmir , Srinagar to mark their solidarity with the 60 thousand Daily wagers, Fair Price Shop dealers , Labours , Causal/ Need base workers , NRHM employees, NYK employees , Hamalas , and Contractual drivers working in different departments.
Reports said the programme was a grand success as the similar protest demonstrations were held at district headquarters across Kashmir . Witnesses said social distancing norms were maintained at the protest venues in view of the current Covid 19 pandemic.
Speaking on the occasion Chairman Employees Joint Consultative Committee Kashmir Eijaz Ahmad Khan reminded the Govt. about the promises and commitments of regularisation of services with the poor workers working in different fepartments on contractual/ seasonal basis . The President EJCC said that the promises of regularisation made by the Government have not been fulfilled for years together and warned the government that if the long pending demands of these workers were not accepted and implemented in the shortest possible time, the employees will hit streets across Kashmir valley and as well as Jammu division .
Terming the revocation of SRO-202 as Victory of stakeholders, Chairman, EJCC, Khan hailed the Administration’s recent decision on revoking SRO-202 and said that this decission is historical as it was a long pending demand of his Association which has finally been fulfilled in the interest of justice. Khan expressed his gratitude to the Associations of Employees who are affiliated with Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) for making Tuesday’s protest program a grand success..
