Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Saturday convened a meeting to review progress on demarcation of JDA land in Jammu and Samba districts.
Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu, Shridhar Patil, ADC Jammu, Ghansham Singh, ADC Samba, Vikas Gupta, VC JDA, Babila Rakwal besides Sub Divisional Magistrates of district Jammu and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The concerned officers apprised the Div Com of the progress achieved so far and also informed about the total land retrieved in both the districts.
The Divisional Commissioner impressed upon the concerned to implement intensified anti-encroachment drives and initiate strict action against the violators. He directed the officers to constitute a special team and start an intense demolition drive to remove illegal constructions and encroachments across the city areas.
He directed district administrations of Jammu and Samba to demarcate JDA land in their area jurisdiction besides ensuring fencing of already demarcated land to prevent further encroachments.
The Div Com asked the concerned officers to make an activity calendar for anti encroachment drives and expedite the process of demarcation.
